The Ventura Braves Baseball Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the development of pre-high school and high school baseball players through a locally focused, fundamentals-driven program.
Based in Ventura, we prioritize local play to keep players connected to their community, avoiding the burnout and logistical challenges of constant travel to distant tournaments. Our meticulously planned schedules, clear communication with families, and commitment to operational excellence create a seamless, supportive experience that allows players to focus on growth.
Operating during the fall and summer seasons, our scout-run organization prioritizes core skill development over excessive tournament travel, offering young athletes a professional, structured environment to hone their craft right here in Ventura.
Our coaching staff is a cornerstone of our program, featuring an elite group of former MLB and minor league players, professional scouts, and seasoned coaches. This unparalleled expertise ensures top-tier instruction in every facet of the game, with a strong emphasis on mastering fundamentals—hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running—while prioritizing arm care and injury prevention to build sustainable, long-term athletic growth.
We believe that true player development begins with a foundation of core skills, especially for pre-high school and high school athletes. While tournament play can be exciting, skipping essential skill development often leaves young players unprepared for the demands of competitive baseball. Our program counters this by focusing on deliberate, hands-on training tailored to each athlete’s needs. Ventura Braves Inspiration & History
1950-1952
A really beautiful old score book(above) from the short-lived Ventura Braves of the Class C California League. The Braves were a Class C farm club of the National League's Boston Braves.
Though the professional Ventura Braves team had a short stint in Ventura, they did inspire us to naming our club after them and continue the tradition of competitive baseball in Ventura.
The Ventura Braves Baseball Club was initially founded in 2021 with the goal to serve the local baseball community as the coaching staff look to impart their knowledge of leadership, dedication, drive and life experiences earned to the next generations while providing a fun yet competitive outlet for local youth.
